Not all CBD Flower is Created Equal

Grace Note CBD is Grown with Care

We are a Licensed Grower; we grow our own product.  We are not reselling you a product that someone else grew.  We are a small, artisan grower.  Our small-scale farm allows us to be hands-on during the entire process and create an artisanal, high-CBD product for you.  We are dedicated to our vision of a quality product that you will enjoy.

Our plants are grown in a greenhouse so that we can control the quality of the plant.  We grow less than 100 plants each season and focus on one or two strains of Hemp CBD each season.  This year, we chose to grow the Cherry Blossom Hemp CBD Strain because it produces a high-CBD flower that is smooth tasting and has a pleasant aroma.

Our plants start their journey in an indoor grow tent in the early Spring.  You can see the little plants here under the grow lights.  They must be kept warm and checked at least daily to make sure they are getting the right amount of airflow and water.  Shortly after they get to the size in this picture, they are transplanted into much larger pots and moved into the outdoor greenhouse.

Growing Hemp CBD is NOT Like Growing Roses

I come from a family that has grown beautiful, backyard roses for decades.  I KNOW how to grow roses.  Roses have thousands of years of careful genetics that produce uniform plants and flowers.  Hemp CBD plants literally grow and look like weeds.  They are not all uniform in shape or size.  Sometimes we have plants that just won't thrive.

Only the female plants produce flower.  Although we plant feminized seeds, sometimes we have a rogue male plant that must be banished from the greenhouse or all the plants will go to seed instead of flower.

Hemp CBD plants need a lot of hands-on attention; hand trimming the plant so that it grows properly, constant air flow, the right amount of heat and sunlight, the right amount of PH-specific soils, fertilizers and water.  It's a process that requires attentiveness to detail and constant oversight.

 It's ALL Organic

Everything we use to grow the plants is organic.  We are committed to producing a quality product and we use organic "ingredients" in our grow environment. That means all grow mediums (soils, worm castings), fertilizers and pest control products (including lady bugs) are organic, free from contaminants and high in beneficial compounds.

Growing organic also means it's important to catch a problem early, so we are diligent about the oversight of our plants.  For instance, a pest infestation in one plant, if not immediately addressed, will quickly spread to the entire greenhouse and destroy part or all of the crop.

Hemp CBD plants need a lot of water, each plant needs about a gallon a day.  Our plants are watered with well water, not water that has been treated with chemicals.

Mandated Testing Requirements

Hemp CBD plants must pass the required state testing to be below 3% THC before harvest or the entire crop has to be destroyed.  There's no way to really tell how close your plants are to that level without testing, so it's a bit nerve wracking wait once the test is sent in.

 Harvest with Care and Consideration

The plants grow for 3 to 4 months in the greenhouse.  As the plants mature, the CBD levels increase, and proper timing of the harvest is vital.  During the final weeks, the fragrance in the greenhouse is strong as the plants put more energy into producing the flower.  The branches with buds become so heavy that the have to be staked for support.

When the flower is at peak, we harvest the plants for drying.  Plants are hung upside down for about 30 days to dry.  Then the flower if pulled from the rest of the plant, trimmed and stored in airtight containers to maintain the freshness.

 Ta-daaaah!

The result of all this work and diligence is a high-CBD (19.3%), bodacious flower (see I told you I know roses), that passes all testing requirements,

has an enticing aroma and taste profile that are perfect for smoking and vaping or enjoying in beverages (like tea and cocoa) .
