GEORGE

Grace Note’s George Story – Spoiler Alert...This story has a  happy ending. 

Background: George showed up one summer evening. We were working on the greenhouse. He initially growled at me and took a spot away from the activity but close enough to watch. When I sat down about 10 feet from him, he came over to see me. He was in rough shape. He had no collar; he was covered in ticks and had callouses on his elbows. He walks with a limp. I fed him, of course. I put up fliers, contacted the Humane Society and Sheriff, took him to the vet to see if he was chipped. No one was looking for George. George had been dumped. 

George is a sweet and devoted soul, living his best life on our farm. He has a bed next to mine and insists on going with me everywhere. It seems appropriate that George should have a spot on this site as our mascot. 

George supervises all activities on the farm, and he makes sure I am under surveillance at all times.
